At the southern edge of the Ajul Luxury Hotel & Spa Resort, a new aquatic zone has been integrated into the resort’s landscape, offering a well-calibrated addition to the overall guest experience. Its siting ensures uninterrupted sea views, creating a deliberate visual dialogue between natural and artificial water environments. The design supports a clear intention: to host recreational activity for all ages without compromising the resort’s broader atmosphere of calm and spatial openness.
The entire composition is structured around a fluid system of curved and circular geometries that respond organically to the natural slope of the site. The central feature is a large swimming pool with a planted island, which serves as a connective nucleus. It receives the slide from the main tower and incorporates palms, a curved bridge, and a gentle swimming route, defining both the visual and spatial axis of the park.
Surrounding this core, two additional water zones—one shallow, the other near zero-depth—accommodate integrated water play features such as smaller slides, sprayers, and interactive installations designed for younger guests. These zones support a gradual, safe, and age-appropriate experience without abrupt spatial transitions.
Perpendicular to the central axis and aligned with the geometry of the main pool lies a circular bar, around which all auxiliary functions are discreetly placed: restrooms (including male, female, and accessible facilities), a kitchen, and storage areas. These support spaces are built into the terrain as underground volumes, topped with planted roofs and curved façades that follow the design’s formal language. This subterranean approach absorbs programmatic needs while preserving unobstructed sea views from other parts of the hotel.
Material choices favor natural textures and earthy tones to blend harmoniously with the surrounding landscape. Water play elements are rendered in soft pastel colors, with carefully placed accent tones to evoke a joyful atmosphere, without visual excess or aesthetic discordance.
The Ajul Waterpark avoids spectacle in favor of architectural coherence. It does not aim to dominate, but rather to complement: a composed aquatic landscape that enriches the hotel ecosystem with accessibility, subtlety, and a sense of place. It is a space designed for leisure, crafted with precision, and attuned to its natural and cultural context.
